Earth Day Las Cruces is a celebration of eco-arts, live music, green businesses, dance, environmental research, local foods, and local charities. As always, the event is free to the public and fun for the whole family.

This year’s event was planned by a large group of volunteers, including Organization of Aggies Students Inspiring Sustainability (OASIS, NMSU student club), The City of Las Cruces Sustainability Office, NMSU Office of Sustainability, Doña Ana County various departments, City of Las Cruces various departments, Oye!, March for Science, and many NMSU students.

This year’s Earth Day is a pilot project for zero-waste event management in Las Cruces.  Our goal is to reuse, recycle, or compost every material thing used at the event. All food and drink at the event will be sold in either recyclable containers or compostable containers donated by Whole Foods, and you can help with the zero-waste goal by bringing your own water bottle.

Earth Day Las Cruces 2017 will feature live music and dance, eco-arts, presentations and discussion groups led by local scientists and environmentalists, kids’ activities, and more. The schedule is here.
